2021-2022 University Catalog

2021-2022 University Catalog

Welcome to the 2021/22 school year.  Our lives changed dramatically over the past year due to the global pandemic, social/political unrest, high unemployment and so may other challenges.  Now we work to build a new future for our lives that include some of the things we cherish from the past while adapting to the new realities we face.  We want to seize the opportunity to build something better for Multnomah University.

MU will never be the same.  It is impossible to simply return to the way things were before the events of the past year.  An exciting new future awaits, and Multnomah University is committed to embracing the best of the future while faithfully following God's purposes for our lives.

Some things will not change.  We will continue to honor Christ, the Bible, academic excellence, spiritual formation and helping our students pursue meaningful lives and careers focused on serving others.  We remain committed to provide a caring, supportive learning community that will challenge you and make you a better person as you pursue your life, educational, and career goals.

Forecasters predict that up to forty percent of jobs currently held by humans will be replaced by technological advances.  So, how do we best prepare you for this and so many other challenges?  Most importantly, "how do we best prepare you to live meaningful lives and establish healthy relationships?"

From examining research on the future of work, life, and higher education we established some new strategic directions.  Examples include implementing the most effective teaching methods in this expanding digital world and preparing you for the major shift in the work force that will occur over the next ten years.  Look for these shifts as you prepare for a career of impact.

So, as we experience this new school year together, know I am praying for all of you and hoping that as a learning community we will faithfully follow God as He leads us.  I am excited to see how God is going to bless this year.

Dr. Craig Williford, President
