University Counseling Center
The Multnomah University Counseling & Wellness Center assists students with mental health issues, including concerns related to adjustment, mood disorders, relationship issues, and/or personal and family concerns. Counseling services are provided to those students currently enrolled at Multnomah University and can attend session in person at the MU Counseling & Wellness Center or remotely within the geographical limits allowed by state law.
Staff
The Center is staffed by licensed professional counselors and Master of Arts in Counseling graduate interns. The counselors are deeply committed to Christ and providing inclusive and ethically sound treatment to all clients.
Services
- Free, for the first six sessions each term, individual, couple, or family counseling services to deal with issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, addictive behaviors, grief, life transitions, etc.
- Case management and community referrals for more specialized services
- Pre-engagement, pre-marital, and marital counseling
- Groups to provide support and/or psychoeducation for issues that students may want to address provided at no cost
- Educational resources related to mental health and developing healthy relationships
Confidentiality
Students’ privacy is of the utmost importance. Multnomah University Counseling & Wellness Center staff do not share personal student mental health information with parents, university employees or other practitioners without a signed written authorization unless mandated to do so in the case of an emergency.
