CHM 201 General Chemistry I
This course is the first of a two-semester sequence in chemistry.
Course topics include the scientific method, properties of gases, liquids, and solids; chemical nomenclature and stoichiometry, types of chemical reactions, atomic and molecular structure, periodicity, and chemical bonding. The laboratory component of the course
teaches standard laboratory techniques and emphasizes the role
quantitative measurements play in extracting chemically useful
information.
