HEB 852 Readings in Rabbinic Exegesis

A survey of Jewish exegetical literature including pre-rabbinic texts (LXX, Philo, and Dead Sea Scrolls) Targums, Midrash, Talmuc, and medieval rabbinic commentators. Special focus is given to texts that exemplify the breadth of Jewish interpretation of the Hebrew Bible and portions relevant to the study of the New Testament. Offered alternate years.
