SCI 316 Experimental Design & Ethics
This course, designed for science majors, examines the
principles underlying the design of good experiments. Students
will learn how to develop appropriate research questions,
utilize controls, validate the experimental system, analyze data
using statistics, and draw appropriate conclusions. A discussion
of ethical issues unique to the research setting will include
topics of intellectual property, authorship, scientific record
keeping, and the use of living organisms in research. Offered
alternate years.
