ENV 412 Urban Systems
This course examines the implications of urban growth on both
local and distant ecosystems. The impact of human activities
including technology, pollution, redistribution of resources, and
altered patterns of production and consumption on ecosystems
will be studied, as will the adaptations of organisms to urban
settings. This course will integrate biological, chemical,
economic, ethical, and political aspects of environmental science
in the study of urban systems. Two hours of lecture and three
hours of lab per week. Offered alternate years.
