SCI 210 Fundamentals of Horticulture
Introduces students to the fundamentals of horticulture, including plant and soil structure and function as well as the basics of planting, growing, and harvesting food crops. The course also will explore the biological and biochemical science behind these fundamentals. Laboratory exercises will center around students creating, planting, and tending a garden (window boxes, planters or a larger space are all options). Upon completion of the course, students will have the knowledge and experience to grow a broad range of plants for visual enjoyment and food consumption.
