ENV 324 Aquatic Systems
This course integrates the physical, chemical, biological, and economic components of water resources. Topics include the climate-water cycle feedbacks, aquatic ecosystems, groundwater resources and flow, watershed hydrology, aquatic chemistry, surface and groundwater contamination, and sea level rise. Economic topics inlcude water treatment, demand, and conflict. The lab portion includes field experience in stream and lake ecosystem analyses. Two hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week. Offered alternate years. ENV201 is a recommended prerequisite.
