Master of Divinity, Neighborhood Flourishing
Multnomah's Master of Divinity program offers a focused course of study in Church-based Community Development. With the generous support of the Lilly Endowment, Inc. through a grant, Multnomah has developed a specialized program of study that prepares students to serve the Church, and our neighbors, by learning how to listen and collaborate with the community in which every local church resides. This 82-credit hour track provides students with a foundation for partnering in their community for redemptive transformation and sustainable flourishing.
Students in this track have a required curriculum (no electives) that is centered on a holistic gospel pursuit of the well-being and flourishing of a local community. This track prepares church leaders to envision the Church as a vital participant in the community life of their neighborhood, learning to lead and disciple their congregations toward this end. The core set of courses embedded in this track create a foundation that students will build on and contextualize when they move into their respective vocational setting.
