LIN 515 Introduction to Linguistics
This course focuses on the core branches of linguistic inquiry: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics, while also encompassing topics in language acquisition and sociolinguistics. Exploration of the deep and meaningful patterns and processes of language will equip students to engage more optimally in language teaching and learning. Students will be guided to conduct basic linguistic analysis and apply linguistic understanding to language instruction.
