LIN 554 Theories of Second Language Acquisition
The course will be a guided quest through research to address the questions, "What makes a good language learner?" and, "What makes a good language teacher?" Key research theories and theorists will be explored to better understand second language acquisition processes. Topics will include first language development , learner variables and contexts, stages of interlanguage, error analysis, and the role of sociocultural factors in second language acquisition. It is recommended to take LIN 556 concurrently wtih LIN 554.
